Pictures and details of the new facelifted Porsche Panamera have
been released ahead of the car's debut at the Shanghai Motor Show.
And the big news is that a new hybrid version of the
Panamera is set to join the range. The Panamera S E-Hybrid is powered by
a 316bhp 3.0-litre V6 engine mated to a 94bhp electric motor and is
capable of 91mpg and CO2 emissions of 83g/km.
But despite its impressive green credentials, the E-Hybrid will hit 62mph in 5.5 seconds and carry on accelerating up to 167mph.
On electric power alone, the Panamera S E-Hybrid is rumoured to be capable of 83mph and have a range of between 11 and 22 miles.
The rest of the Panamera range benefits from improved economy too.
Gone is the 4.8-litre V8 petrol from the model line-up, with both the
Panamera S and the Panamera 4S now using a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre
V6 engine. Power is up 20bhp to 420bhp and fuel economy is said to have
improved by 18 per cent.
On the outside the Panamera gets larger front air intakes, LED headlights and a revised rear end
